STRESS MAY BE THE CAUSE OF YOUR BELLY FAT

Most of us would love to lose our belly fat, the paunch, the pouch that hangs over underwear, swimwear and sticks embarassingly out of trousers and shorts.

1. Did you know that stress can be a cause of storing fat in this region.

When the body is stressed, it produces an excess of the hormone cortisol, this can also lead to feeling hungry quite often, so you eat more, but stress always seems to enjoy the unhealthy foods, chips and chocolate, the comfort foods.
When you are calm and coping, you are able to focus on good eating habits and able to deny any sudden cravings.

Being under stress tends not to make you want to take exercise, even a walk or doing something relaxing that you enjoy is sometimes a chore.

2/ Did you know that meditation can help lose this fat

One good way to overcome stress is meditation. Not only will this help alleviate the stressed out feelings but will calm and focus the mind to determine what is causing the stress. A lot of things become clearer during meditation especially problems, when all of a sudden, you may just have the answers to the problems.

3/ How to Meditate
All you need is a few quiet minutes alone, perhaps when you're taking a bath and relaxing, turning off the mobile and telling everybody you do not want to be disturbed.
8 to 10 minutes regularly a day will work wonders to quieten the mind and help you get focused.
Under deep relaxation, you may just realise what caused the stress in the first place and give you the solution to ending it.

So, get yourself comfortable, listen to a meditation audio session on your mp3,
close your eyes and breathe in deeply counting to 4, hold for 2, breathe out for 4, focus on this for a few minutes. Breathe in from your diaphram, put your hand just under your ribs and as you breathe in, push the hand up and feel it go down when you exhale.

4/ Don't concentrate on problems, let your thoughts float away, imagine a place you would really like to be at that moment, where there is only you. Really feel it, see it and then imagine you are being filled and surrounded with a beautiful white and gold  light. Let it flow through you, see it in your mind, clearing and cleansing every cell, making you feel so so alive.

5/ Take these few minutes every day, make them yours, be selfish and greedy with this time. After a few days you will feel a difference. At anytime, when you get stressful feelings, just close your eyes and  breathe deeply until they subside.

As you reduce the stress, you reduce the hormone and its' effects, which will subsequently lead to helping towards getting rid of that belly fat as well as a better outlook on life and more confidence.
